Babaians Law Firm wants to support the next generation of college students as they chase their collegiate dreams. This year, the firm invites undergraduate and graduate students to apply for its “Creating Your Future” Scholarship, which encourages students to think critically about their professional goals.
Students have until November 1, 2024, to submit their scholarship video essays to Babaians Law. The winning student will receive $2,500 from the firm. We encourage students from all fields of study to put their applications forward before time runs out.
Who is Eligible?
Babaians Law Firm encourages undergraduate and graduate students in all fields of study to put their applications for the “Creating Your Future” Scholarship forward. Applicants must meet the following criteria to have their video essays considered by the firm’s scholarship selection committee:
- Students must be enrolled in or accepted at an accredited United States college as an undergraduate or graduate student
- Students must agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions
- Students must submit a complete application by the scholarship deadline
How Do I Apply?
Students who want to apply for the “Creating Your Future” Scholarship must create a video essay on the scholarship topic provided below. After completing their videos, students must fill out the application form on this page.
Babaians Law Firm encourages students to upload their video essays to YouTube as unlisted videos. Students can then share a link to that unlisted video with their application materials.
Scholarship Video Essay Topic
To qualify for the “Creating Your Future” Scholarship, students must create a one to two-minute video essay describing their goals for their post-academic career. Babaians Law Firm encourages students to think critically about questions like the following:
- What degree are you pursuing and why?
- What do you plan to use your degree to benefit your community?
- Describe what your ideal academic journey might look like
- What obstacles do you anticipate making your collegiate career harder?
- What is your unique approach to conquering your dreams?
The scholarship selection committee with Babaians Law Firm encourages students to keep their videos between one and two minutes. To ensure their videos are eligible for consideration eligible, students must:
- Record their videos in well-lit areas while holding their recording device of choice as still as possible.
- Mention their full name and the name of the scholarship they are applying for either at the beginning or at the end of their video, and give credits as necessary.
- Specify any sources of information and the media editing tools used in crafting and creating their videos in the description of the video.
- Use only copyright-free content, and come up with a creative, catchy title that reflects their ideas.
Editing and AI Policies
The scholarship selection committee wants students to explore the use of media editing tools, like Adobe Creative Cloud, when crafting their video essays. Students may use images, stock shots, effects, and/or clean cuts when crafting their content. However, the quality of a student’s editing will not contribute to the selection committee’s scholarship decision.
Students may use AI to generate B-roll footage for their videos. Students may not use AI voice generators or script writers when creating their videos. Use of AI to generate actors for a scholarship video essay, script, or personal video footage will result in an automatic disqualification.
Application Deadline
Students have until November 1, 2024, to create their video essays. Babaians Law Firm will not consider applications submitted after this date.
The firm reserves up to three months to select its scholarship winner. We cannot accept calls, emails, or other forms of communication about the scholarship during this selection period. Neither families nor students should contact us for updates about the status of their scholarship application.
